Mouth Guards and Bite Guards

Competitive athletes are often coached to put up with pain…but they are also equipped to make sure the demands of their chosen sport don't do physical damage to their bodies. Your teeth are important and mouth guards are often mandatory for your protection, both in schools and in professional sports.

Some mouth guards can be bought ready-made, and trimmed with a knife or scissors. However, for maximum effectiveness, protection, comfort and durability, we recommend a custom made mouth guard for our patients. We will take an impression of your teeth in dental alginate material from which your custom fit mouth guard will be crafted by our highly-trained and skilled team, using the best FDA-approved medical grade materials. We can also provide mouth guards made especially for patients who wear braces, bridge work, or who have other special needs.

Bite Guards for TMJ and Teeth Grinding (Bruxism).

Bite guards are also sometimes recommended for people with TMJ problems, or for those who have trouble with teeth grinding, or bruxism. These devices are also designed specifically for each patient's needs to help minimize the damaging effects of these conditions.
